Dr Ahmed AlMaazmi is an Emirati historian and translator, and Assistant Professor of History at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU). He received his PhD in Near Eastern Studies from Princeton University in 2025.

His research examines empire, science, and law in the Arabian Peninsula and wider Indian Ocean world. He is active in public history as founder and host of the Indian Ocean World podcast, translator of historical scholarship into Arabic, and a frequent public lecturer. His work has been recognized with several distinctions, including the 2025 Dissertation Award from the Association for Gulf and Arabian Peninsula Studies.
