Ali AlShaali is a poet, novelist, and publisher whose work blends creative writing with cultural leadership. An alumnus of the International Writing Program at the University of Iowa and the Frankfurt Book Fair Fellowship, he brings a multidisciplinary background that includes civil engineering and project management. He has published five poetry collections and two novels—most recently My Name is Alia, Meet My Father (2025), alongside Chambers with Windows and Lives in Pomegranates. His writing has been translated into several languages, longlisted for the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, and awarded the Al Owais Award for Creativity. In 2011, he founded Al Hudhud Group for publishing and distribution, contributing significantly to the regional literary landscape.
